Weaving For Every Day is a year-long membership course, teaching you how to weave beautiful, functional items for use in your every day life.
Over the course of the year we’ll work through 9 different weaving projects, covering everything from clothing to Christmas decorations!
Along the way we'll explore new techniques, experiment with different materials, and share our progress with each project together in the community group.

I've been weaving full time for almost a decade, producing textiles for interiors around the world.
Over the course of my career, I've woven everything from rugs to wall-hangings to woven shutters and headboard covers!
And for this membership, I'm sharing what I've learnt from my years of weaving functional items for every day use, that can nevertheless stand the test of time.
Although I now work on several large floor looms, I started out weaving on simple looms that I made myself, with materials that I often scavenged second hand. And in this membership, we'll be looking at how to re-purpose every-day materials for use in weaving.
Each project is also designed to be woven on a simple loom, and to be completed in the smallest possible timeframe. I'll be sharing my tips and tricks for speeding up and simplifying the weaving process, and helping you get the most out of the time you spend at the loom.
Finally, as you work through each project over the course of a full year, you'll be part of a community of weavers that spans the globe.
You'll be able to share your progress with the rest of the cohort, and get hands on support from me. As much as possible the membership content will be tailored to the needs of the group, with demonstrations for specific looms and advice on how to customise each project for your own home.
How This Membership Works
Start Date - The first project in this membership will launch on Friday 18th October. A bonus project to help you prepare will launch on Friday 6th September.
What You'll Need - A detailed kit list for each project will be made available 4 weeks in advance. This will include everything you'll need for that project, along with suggestions on where to source materials.
About The Projects - Every 6 weeks, a new project will be uploaded to the membership area. You'll be notified by email when this project becomes available, and you'll be able to work through it on your own time - or join in with the rest of the group! All the videos are pre-recorded and closed-captioned. Scroll down to see the list of projects!
Community Group - You will have access to the wider Balfour & Co Community Group as well as a group just for members, where I'll be sharing bonus content and answering FAQs.

Frequently Asked Questions
I've never woven before. Is this membership suitable for me?
Yes! This membership is designed for beginners and experienced weavers alike.
What loom can I use for this membership?
I will be using a simple upright rug loom that I made myself - instructions for this are included in the Bonus Project at the start of this membership. However, I will also be including guidance on how to use rigid heddle, Mirrix or floor looms for each project as well. The main thing to ensure is that you have a weaving area on your loom of 70cm wide and 80cm long.
Can I sign up for just one project?
Yes you can! When each project launches there will be an option to sign up for just that project.
How is this membership different to your other courses and classes?
My other courses have focused on producing one type of weaving - tapestries or rugs. This membership spans a much wider range of woven goods, from rugs to curtain panels, clothing and cushions. My goal is to open up the possibilities of what weaving can used for, and to encourage you to experiment and explore.
Can I download the projects?
Each project comes with downloadable PDF project notes, so you can have step-by-step instructions and notes to hand while weaving. However, the videos themselves cannot be downloaded. Our videos are hosted on a platform similar to Youtube - if your internet connection is not strong enough to watch Youtube, it will not be strong enough for this course. Please check this before you sign up!
Why is VAT added separately?
The EU has certain rules and regulations around the sale of online products into the EU. We ask our EU customers to sign up through a different online platform as this ensures we are compliant with EU rules. Contact my team at info@balfourand.co if you have any questions.
I've opted to pay in 12 monthly instalments. What happens if I miss a payment?
If you miss a payment, our system will reattempt to collect payment. In the event that we are not able to collect payment for that month, your membership will be put on hold and you won't be able to access the membership until the balance has been paid.
